Lot's of activity's during this long and warm weekend

The whole week has been warm, in this week the temperature went up to 30 degrees Celsius. Though it was warm, I had to see my lovely girlfriend. I cycled about 25 minutes to get to her place, but it was worth it to cycle in this heat to be with her for about 90 minutes and then go back home. Underway I picked up a beautiful flower from a garden where I passed by, a lovely orange one, I don't know it's name... it ain't important, what really is, is the gesture I made...

During this weekend there's a lot of traffic on the roads towards the coast, people want to cool down in or near the sea or lake's, but others will be at Landgraaf in Limburg, The Netherlands for the 43'rd music festival 'Pinkpop' and standing or sitting in the sun for many hours or even days to see and hear their favorite bands.

There's enough activity during this long weekend here, so have fun and take care.

OMG...

When I was surfing on the internet this morning, I saw a funny image which I would like to show you -if you haven't seen it already of course- it's about the world that would end in 2012...

Lovely Freesia's on Saturday...

On Thursday May 17th we both cycled through the region and went to some shops where they sell plants for the garden. We went to see three places she picked out earlier, at the last one we bought some to put in her garden. Afterwards we cycled to her place and made it comfortable for the two of us inside... She would work in the garden the next day to put the plants we bought in her garden. I loved to be with her today, -everyday- later on we made supper, noodles/vegetables with ham and eggs. We let it slide downwards on the couch where we hugged each other until it was time to go home for me... The sun already dropped below the horizon when I cycled home... I had a wonderful night-sleep and so did she...

White Freesia Flower Freesia Flower Lilac

We phoned several times on Friday, but today, May 19th , and very soon after this post, I'm taking the bike to her place and taking 20 white and 40 violet-blue single freesia bulbs with me which I bought yesterday -she asked if I would look for them in a nearby shop- I bought two other nice things which she don't know about yet. Sweety needed the freesia bulbs for in her garden to make it a lovely place to be, along with her gorgeous look, it sure will be a success...

I will get back to you, but don't have enough time now ;)

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Westerbork, The Netherlands.

It turns out to be a funny joke of the local events committee of the 'Fiets4Daagse Drenthe, Westerbork' because this is the first year of starting this bike fest. The bike, 5.5 meters by 4.30 meters wide and about 600 pounds, disappeared last week on the night of Monday to Tuesday.

We wanted to put Westerbork in the news” explains John Dobben of the committee on Monday.

Members of the committee unscrewed the bike in nocturnal darkness and a truck transported it to Westerbork. “The thing was just low enough to get it underneith the viaducts.” The colosses will be on the side of the road Emmen-Drachten and hoisted onto a slope.

Owner Community Recreation Veluwe (RGV) is informed on Monday. “They just get the bike back. We hope the RGV will not be mad of this joke and and hope that the theft is withdrawn.” It is not yet known whether RGV is willing to withdraw.

Well... the art has been found.

Oh, by the way... last weekend was great, I hope we meet later on this week so we can be together again for some time and do something we both like.
I went biking this afternoon, while I stood on the bridge to watch across the water, she crossed the bridge too. At first I didn't noticed her but when she yelled, I looked up... I was surprised to see her, a coincidence I said... We had a small talk and kissed each other, she had an important appointment this afternoon... she left a few minutes later. Afterwards I took a photo of the water I was looking at some minutes ago.

'The Men's Bike', a Stolen Artwork...

The large white men's bicycle which stood along the A28, near Beach Nulde, The Netherlands, has disappeared. The bike weighs 400 kilos and can only use a truck or something similar be transported, report manager RGV. The artwork has been years along the road and is approximately 5.5 meters wide and 5 meters high. It disappeared between yesterday afternoon and early this morning. "Only two posts where the bike at rest, are still there," said the manager. RGV does to the police and hopes that witnesses come forward. Photo: NU.nl / Wendy Noorlander

Could it be that a giant man needed a bike? What's the need for stealing this bike anyway, lol, it's to big to put it in someone's garden...

On Youtube I found a big bike someone has build from a model of one of the first bikes in history. I think you could imagian which bike this was...

Btw... we're having a great time together and having a lot of fun... -my girfriend and I, for those who didn't read earlier posts- we'll see each other again on Saturday this weekend, I'm really looking forward of being with her, to hold her in my arms again... it's been quite a while ago you know!... 2 days ;-)

Take care and try to have fun while you're still on this big Earth.

Queensday...

Yesterday, April 30, we had a national feast day in The Netherlands, Queensday. A lot of things is organized to make it a great day for our Queen. It starts at around 10:30 and ends at 22:00 with a lot of fireworks all over the country. In the afternoon, my girlfriend and I agreed to sit down in a park and ate some orange cake -the finish of the cake on this day is colored in orange- and we drank some juice to fill up our needs during this warm and sunny day (22 Celsius). We talked a lot in the afternoon and we had a great time together. We had an fantastic day together, a day to remember as our 4th date. The rest of the week there's not much room to go out, so we will be on the phone by the end of the week and see what could be planned -I have something in my mind and she hasn't been there yet- so if the weather's okay, we'll see from there... I'm quite sure the next date will be great too ;)...

That's it for today's post, I will be back soon if I have the time to write and post it here.

Have an amazing week!

28 April 2012

Just a short post today...

The days go by, missing her kisses and hugs... thinking of the 4th date that's coming soon, what to do and say when I see her again... the 2nd and 3rd went much easier, not so nervous anymore :) We'll go on and on and on... and I sincerely hope it will never end...

Take care and have a very enjoyable weekend.

A busy time... and guess what...

Hi for everybody who comes to this blog... I have been quite busy in the garden, sorry for not posting for the A-Z challance where I have participated in march. I know it has already started but I could not find any time for postings to this blog. The huge hedge in the garden is no more -and I'm glad actually- because I don't have to cut the branches anymore. The hedge 'lived' for at least 30 years, but most of these trees were dead. So it was time to do something else -something that doesn't need much attention- we have chosen for a wooden fence of 1.8 meters high, 14 units of 1.8 meters wide and  lower units with the same wide demensions. I also had to remove an old concrete block of 1x1x1 meters... by hand, I mean with an electrical hammer-tool. Today I have finnished it completely and it's gone forever.

About a month ago I was introduced to a lovely woman at work. She now works at my department and she seems to be very nice. From the beginning of Februari we had met, there were a lot of small talks when we saw eachother on de workplace between her and me... and guess what . . . . . . a first date last weekend . . . . . . yeah . . . . . . and it clicked between us... we like to keep it quiet on the workplace for a while... so what more can I tell you... a great time lies ahead for both of us. I wanted it to write it down here because I'm excited about it and it feels really good.
In an earlier post I have mentioned that I would post more often here. I want to try to pick it up again where I left it and do more with this blog.
That's it for now... so have a great time you all!

11 February 2012

I told you so!...

In the northern part of the Netherlands, ice skaters prepared themselves yesterday for a long ice skating trip along 11 cities. In Dutch they call this trip 'De elfsteden tocht', a translation would be: The Eleven Cities Tour. Officially the tour is cancelled because the ice is not thick enough to carry more than 15000 people. There will be dangerous situations on the ice according the Ice-union. This afternoon an ice skater is taken of the ice and brought to the nearest hospital with an ambulance... he went down very hard.

Today I needed to go to Amsterdam and took the car. I saw a lot of people ice-skating on the frozen canals where I drove by. It was really nice weather, the sun was shining all day and the temperature went above freezing point. At some places I saw liquid water on top of the ice. I'm happy the ice is melting, I don't like it when it's cold... so let spring begin... but we will have to wait a while because snow will fall first in the next week. As I've done all the shopping today, I could stay inside and relax. Perhaps see a movie or do some reading or writing.

At the moment it's dark, the sun has left us today and it's freezing again as I'm writing this post. Our young Spitz puppy, Sita, has done its needs outside in the snow which is still present in the garden. Below you see a picture of her standing with her small feet on the edge of the magazine box.

Have a pleasant weekend everybody and take care.
